What Does A Psychotic Break Mean?

Good Evening Doctor, Need to know what does the meaning of a Psychotic Break exactly means? The Pre-IL Program that I presently work for houses up to 18 Males. One of our clients Therapist has told Staff that this one young man 18 is having signs of being symptomatic,textile hallucinations etc. Just so you know this Program is not a Mental Hospital and has no means of protecting other staff and clients for anyone dealing with a Mental Disorder. Also want to know at what point should he be moved to the proper facility?

* As per my clinical experience, psychotic break means acute psychosis symptoms appearing for the first time usually ( though it can present after long period of asymptomatic phase ).

* The symptoms vary in different individuals but common ones are - irrelevant behavior - excess anger or somnolesence - anxiety - insomnia - agitation - hallucination - others.

The person definitely needs psychiatric counselling and proper treatment to recover faster.
