What Does A Raised Pimple Near The Vaginal Opening Suggest?
I notice earlier this evening a raised pimple of sorts on the outside of the vagina opening; I am not sexually active at this time, so I am wondering what it is and how it can be treated. I am Type II diabetic for 34 years, so I m wondering if this is related to blood sugar issues. I am 65 years old.
Raised pimple near the vagina when you are not sexually active is commonly due to clogged skin pores, ingrown hairs folliculitis. You can take a course of Minocycline / doxycycline if it does not go on its own. Apply Miconazole ointment topically in the area affected. Wear cotton clothes, do not scratch, do not pop it with needles. Use antibacterial soaps.
However, sometimes it can be cysts. If it gets larger or pus filled, it could be a sign of infection. If you are diabetic keep your blood glucose under control. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist & get treated at the earliest.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
