What Does A Raised Rash On The Rib Cage Of An Infant Indicate?
Hi. My almost 20month old son has a rash on his rib cage. It appeared out of no where yesterday and has spread since then. It is raised and feels dry. It has been causing him some discomfort, but when I touch it he screams owe and cries. What could this be??
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM Rashes are never emergency medical conditions and depending on the cause, may go away without any management.Rashes on a child could be caused be caused by a local bacterial, viral or fungal infection, local irritation or allergy since children are constantly exposed to a variety if illnesses and irritants.I will suggest you get an anti-histamine like premalan, an anti-inflammatory like ibumol and bath the child with an antiseptic solution like cyteal.If the rashes persist, you see a Dermatologist for examination.
