What Does A Rash Around An Old Scar On The Ankle Indicate?
Thank you! I am an 80 yr. old female in generally good health, however I have developed a lesion on a childhood scar between my ankles on my left, which was acquired from bite when wading in a lake. It is somewhat painful when lying down at night. I saw my physician who recommended me to a podiatrist and would like another opinion of whom I should consult with this problem.
To give you a more accurate answer, it would be very useful to know certain characteristics about that eruption that you mentioned; moment of appearance of this eruption, if it has been intermittent or permanent, if that pain you mentioned has been since you had this injury in the lake or appeared with the recent eruption, if that pain is related to the movement of the ankle or not, coloration of the rash, whether it is pruritic or not, if there has been any type of discharge. Also associated symptoms, such as fever.
However, I think it is due to a possible infectious process of skin and soft tissues. This can be handled by an internist or a traumatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
