Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does A Rash From The Toes To The Groin Area Indicate?
I have a rash on the lower extremities but it is not raised. It goes from my toes up to the groin area. It almost looks like the pictures of toxic shock but I am a man so I don t see how that could be. I also have a couple of areas in the groin area that look like they may be ingrown hairs but they look like it might be a burn. It is sensitive to soap. I do have a heart issue where one of the lower chambers of my heart doesn t work right. I have not been on medication since I was a teenager for my heart. I was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection about 3 months ago and they gave me antibiotics which I took and all symptoms went away.
The co relation of onset of rash in concern with use of antibiotic is a must as that can be drug induced rashes from use of UTI antibiotics, if it is the same period (not mentioned in question). If that was not the case, other reasons of sensitivity as immunologic response or else must be sorted out in details.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
