Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a rash on my buttocks. Felt it when showering on Saturday evening, felt the raised bumps on buttocks but no itching. Sunday morning the bumps were not noticeable to the touch. Showered Sunday evening and felt the bumps again. Thought perhaps it was the fairly new bar soap, so didn t use this soap on Sunday evening. Monday morning the bumps were not noticeable to the touch. Just took my evening shower and felt the bumps again. My husband took a look and said, yep you have a rash on your butt, nowhere else. And it doesn t itch. No change in laundry soap. Thoughts? Thought his was free. Never mind. Waste of my time. I will just monitor and go to my own doctor if necessary. Misleading!
- Take benadryl twice a day as of now as it will suppress allergy. - Apply cold compresses and avoid any cosmetic product. - Wear loose clothes and try cotton bottoms as it will avoid friction. - Avoid touching or picking rash. - Maintain complete hygiene.
You should consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antihistamine , corticosteroid ointment and may give adrenaline short.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
