What Does A Rash On The Upper Chest Of A Child Indicate?
My son had a positive rapid strep done today. He now has a rash on his upper chest. My brother had Scarlet Fever when he was younger. What does Scarlet Fever look like? Is my baby in danger? My boys have been mostly separatedfor 3 days at this point.
The rash from scarlet fever generally affects all the skin and not only the chest and it feels like a sand paper when touched. As the name says it, it is expected for the child to have fever while having scarlet fever, so if he has no fever it is less likely to be scarlet fever. If the child already is using antibiotics he is less at risk for being in danger from scarlet fever. Still it would be good for the child to be seen by a doctor to be sure what is the cause of the rash and have proper treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
