Hello doc i have over the last 3months developed a red patch on my lower leg shin area it started off as a red circle it became rather itchy and i began to scratch it, since then it has grown in size and has become like a round scar but still developed dry skin and is still quite itchy it has not gone away, I have now got 2 other similar spots growing one just underneath the big one which is small and one on the other leg all on my lower leg area. the one on my lower leg has just become rather itchy and dry and I have scratched that one too. my question is do you think they are dermatitis related.
It is very difficult to diagnose any skin lesion without seeing it. But from your description of the lesion, the possibility of dermatitis is more likely.
But better to consult a dermatologist and get done a clinical examination of the skin lesion. You may need some blood reports and skin biopsy (if needed) for the diagnosis.
If it is dermatitis then topical steroid cream will be advised.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Kaushal Bhavsar, Pulmonologist
