What Does A Red Rash Above The Ankle Indicate?
My husband has a red mark on the inside of his leg right above the ankle. It resembles a strawberry birthmark but more red. It is about 3 inches in circumference. He has no pain, no warmth in the area. He was out cutting grass yesterday and says he thought it was from either his shoe for his sock rubbing his foot in that location. There is a little swelling as well. He put some neosporin on it. Any ideas?

This is probably a patch of ringworm--a fungal skin infection.
He can try topical Lamisil cream three times a day for a week, but if that isn't effective, he'll need prescription ketoconazole cream
