What Does A Red Rash On The Cheek Of A Toddler Indicate?
Hi, my three year old son has a red rash on his right cheek. He has a stuffed up nose and has been coughing periodically during the day, but mostly during the night when he wakes up from his severe coughing. I think he may have 5th disease as his cheek looks like it has been slapped. He says that his legs are itchy, but there are no red splotches or any other dryness on the legs. I don t believe that there is any cure for 5th disease, but was wondering if there is anything I should do for his stuffy nose and coughing?
If it is due to allergy to something or if there is bacterial or viral infection, then it can be treated with antibiotics or antivirals. There is the solution to the problem, it all needs to be sorted out.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Hello, I think your baby needs to be treated with any antihistaminic syrup. Cetirizine, Diphenhydramine, Chlorpromazine syrups can be given for few days. If it is due to allergy to something or if there is bacterial or viral infection, then it can be treated with antibiotics or antivirals. There is the solution to the problem, it all needs to be sorted out. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Archana
