What Does A Red Rash On The Scalp Indicate?

Flat red small splotch immediately appeared on my scalp after I blow dried my hair, before that I had used haircolor on my hair. It does not itch and is not painful. It is not raised. About the size of a pencil eraser on my forehead hairline. Will it disappear on its own?

I am really sorry to know about that small thing that appeared..
Hi and welcome to HCM.. I am here to help you..
Thank you for posting your query..

I read your question completely and have understood it well enough..
I being a surgeon, we encounter so many such cases day in and day out..

Basically,
I feel it might be a small area of hematoma or purpura.
But do not worry, it will go away on its own. 100%

Well, here are the few things that I want to talk to you about..

1. I want to know your age and if you are are on any medications like anti coagulants, aspirin etc..

2. If no history of drug intake and age below 40 to 45 then there's absolutely no problem. That red thing will go away slowly. Maximum in say 6 weeks.
I shall tell you what to do. Keep observing the color of that area.
If it turns, blue then black and so on.. Then definitely it's a kinda bruise. Bcos of the blower.
In case that sequence is seen, then you can apply Thrombophob ointment to aid in the dissolution of blood underneath and it's very useful..

3. If it remains same, then I again suggest you to wait for few weeks.

4. Later we can plan for soft tissue scan or something..

5. You clearly say, no pain, no itching then do not worry.
You'll be soon fine..

Hope this helps you, in case you need any help with this, please let me know..
Take care and God bless you..
