What Does A Red Rash On The Wrist Indicate?

Ok I have like this red blemish on my wrist. Its by my blood vessels. It hasn t itched or hurt or anything, I didn t even notice it until I saw it in class. I would say its bumpy but that s just my skin. It moves with my skin almost like its stained or inside it. I haven t been messing with any red pens or markers.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Red rash on the wrist commonly occurs due to an allergy of the skin to certain metals (bracelets, accessories, etc) that you might have worn.

You can take antihistamines. Do not scratch, avoid wearing any accessory especially at places where you may sweat. It should go away.

However, if it stays or spreads it can be eczema, contact dermatitis, skin lesions or atopic dermatitis.

Get physically examined by a dermatologist, get evaluated & treated at the earliest. You may have to go through STD tests if you are sexually active to stay on the safer side.

Your treatment will depend upon the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
