What Does A Round And Dark Patch Of Tough Skin On The Ankle Bone Indicate?
I have a round dark patch of tough skin on top of my foot almost on top of ankle bone, the bone that sticks out when you bend your foot...it is dry scaly and peels in the center and it feels like there might be a bulge under it. It doesnt hurt its just ugly and exfoliating does nothing but to make the center pinker while the edges are darker
If it's scaly and raised dry patch then possibility of psoriasis should be ruled out. Also baseline uric acid levels should be done to rule out tophi of gout. Sometimes, pressure points at skin normal skin can hypertrophy into such spots which is not if any worrisome. Meanwhile, applying emolients like liquid paraffin wax along with vaseline can be of help. It's better to get it reviewed by a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
