Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a growth about two-three inches above my knee which started as a small, flat growth. I scratched it, and it began to grow like a pimple the size of a BB pellet. Within a four week period, it has grown to the size of an oval dime, not perfectly round. It itches, is extremely sore to the touch, has prickly sensations, and even aches a bit. I have an appointment with a dermatologist this Tuesday. It is red around the growth where it itches (more at night). Any insights as to whether basal cell or squamous cell?
Hello welcome to HCM,to tell you exactly what it could be we would need a few more details ,like how fast is it progressing and do you have any fever ,it would also be helpful if you would upload a picture of the lesion.meanwhile by the information provided I feel it could be what we call a hair follicle infection or an abscess and local antibiotic therapy would be needed regards Dr Haleema
