What Does A Sharp Burning Pain In Palm Of Hand Suggest?

I had a sudden sharp burning pain in the palm of my right hand. I looked at my hand and it looks like a vein going across my hand about an inch long and the skin is red in that area. It is still bothersome. What is wrong with it because I didn t do anything to it?

Hello,

Suddenly painful burning with redness indicates infection most probably through breach of overlying skin. Guidelines for better recovery:
- Local application of ice
- Analgesic medicine as Diclofenac or Ibuprofen
- Pregabaline in selected cases
- Antibiotics or antiviral drug of choice by treating Physician
