What Does A Skin Tag On The Upper Maxillary Frenulum Indicate?
I am a heavy user of dip. Recently I noticed a tag on my upper maxillary frenulum. I'm 21 years old and am wondering if I should be worried. I have no idea how long it's been there and can't feel it and it is not sensitive to the touch. I don't know how I haven't noticed and I wouldn't have noticed it if I hadn't happened to look there recently
A tag on the maxillary frenulum can be due to causes like a Mucous cyst or Mucocele, a wart or even a fibrous tissue hypertrophy..
So first of all you should consult an Oral Physician and get it checked..
In case if it is a mucocele then doing concentrated salt water rinses can help.. In case if it is a fibrous tissue hypertrophy then it can be removed with a minor surgical procedure..
So a clinical examination is must and if the excision is done it can be further investigated microscopically..
Hope this helps .
Regards..

What Does A Skin Tag On The Upper Maxillary Frenulum Indicate?
** Thanks for contacting with your health concern 1. In best interest, it will be wise to see an ENT or Dermatologist for accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. PS. It could be a mucocele or a papilloma [all are harmless], but if you are in doubt seek consultation and investigations [if any]
