What Does A Small, Bleeding Growth In Belly Button Indicate?

I have had some type of growth in my bellybutton since I was a child we noticed it after finding a tick in there I was around age 10 I saw a doctor about it he said not to worry about it unless it starts bothering me I am now 33 and for no apparent reason it burst today and bled. What s your opinion?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Small growth which could be bleeding in belly button could be due to sebaceous cyst.
Kindly do the following to overcome it.
1. Clean the area everyday using mild antiseptic solution like Iodine or Savlon.
2. Apply Soframycin skin cream after drying.
3. Take antiinflammatory Tablet. Ibuprofen after food for about 3 to 5 days.
Keep the area under good hygiene so that it does not get infected.
In case it recurrs, you need to get examined by Surgeon and plannfir its excision.
