What Does A Small Lump Outside The Lower Lip Indicate?
I recently discovered a small lump on the outside of my lower lip on my mouth. I had no trauma to the area. It is not painful, however if feels like it is getting bigger or coming more to the service of my lip. Should I be concerned or will it just go away with time?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a small lump on the lower lip can be due to hypertrophied sebaceous gland/oil gland that are present in abundance over the lower lip..
Secondly it can also be due to overgrowth of soft tissues that can be secondary to trauma or lip biting habit.. Other cause can be a wart or pappiloma..
For confirmation of the cause you need to consult a General Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination and if needed biopsy/FNAC can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
