What Does A Small Spot On Roof The Mouth Indicate?
I have a very small spot on the roof of my mouth. I went to the doctor three weeks ago and had a strep test and a flu test done and both were negative. He gave me amoxicillin and told me to wait 2 days to fill it. He said he thought I had a virus. I did get a really bad cold but it went away the end of December. The spot is a little speckled but hasn't changed at all, doesn't bleed or hurt. I am going for a checkup this Friday with the same doctor and will let him look at it. In the meantime, I am a worrier. could it be caused by me having a virus as the doctor thought.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms a bump on roof of the mouth can be a Mucous Cyst known as MUCOCELE, Hematoma caused by trauma with some hard food, Epstein Pearl, Adenoma etc. Nothing to worry consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and treatment can be planned according to the confirmatory diagnosis..
Hematoma and Mucocele mostly resolve on its own while Adenoma and Epstein Pearl may require surgery removal..
Hope this information helps.. Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
