Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi! My mouth has been sore for 2 days now and I was wondering what it could be. There is also a bump on my tongue and I can't see it but I can feel it. Eating is starting to be uncomfortable and I just want to know should I see a doctor or wait for this to go away on its own?
As per your complain soreness in tongue along with a sore bump seems to be most probably due to inflammation inside mouth causing Glossitis.. A bump can be due to inflammation leading to swelling of the taste buds while can also be due to initial stage of ulcer formation..
I would suggest you to start gargling with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine.. You should take Vitamin B complex and lysine daily for a week.. Take anti inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.. Suck ice pops and do cool water rinses.. Avoid spicy and chilled foods.. You should consult a Dentist and get a thorough evaluation done in case if there is no improvement..
Hope you get well soon..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
