I have a sore next to my ankle that started as a small hole... the small initial hole was very sensitive and painful. It then got infected and worsened. I ve had this sore for 2 months now. I think it might be an ulcer sore, but I need to know how to make it heal properly.
hi. I have read your question and understand your concern.
an ulcer near ankle for two months duration is most likely venous ulcer. venous ulcers are caused by stasis of blood. when the veins of leg are not capable of effectively pumping blood.
to reduce the stasis I suggest you lie down for 10 minutes every 4 hours. also you can put a pillow under your legs to slightly elevate the leg end. if you have a job that demands long hours of sitting/standing then I suggest you buy a stocking. elastic stockings are specially designed for venous stasis patients.
also you should get ultrasound Doppler to rule out any incompetent valves.
I suggest you see a vascular surgeon.
hope this helps. for any further queries please get back to us. thanks.
