What Does A Swollen And Painful Lymph Node On The Neck Be Treated?
I have a swollen left neck gland that is painful to touch. I started antibiotics yesterday and have taken 5 total. I see no relief yet and it is still sensitive to touch. I also am experiencing lack of energy and chills. Would peppermint oil and heat compress help?
As per your query you have swollen and painful lymph node on the neck . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query that problem related to wisdom tooth in case if you have an erupting or impacted wisdom tooth and gum flap over the tooth is inflamed leading to swelling and in the area as well as swollen lymph nodes . You should consult an Oral surgeon and get evaluated and an X ray can help in confirming the cause . The symptoms can also occur due to tonsillitis due to upper respiratory track infection or lymphadenopathy. Consult ENT specialist for this . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory or recommend tonsillectomy . Do warm saline gargles 2-3 times a day and also drink glass of warm water with one spoon of honey and garlic extract.
