What Does A Swollen Lymph Node On The Right Side Of The Neck Indicate?

I have recently been released from my Doctor for rotter cuff surgery. It was Workmens Comp. I was noticing a swollen gland on my right side of my throat. I did my exercises and later I could not move my neck without massive pain. Even swallowing was painful when my neck was in a certain position. It is all on my right side. It gets so bad I cry and can not stand the pain. Our insurance stinks so emergency is out of the question. Work starts tomorrow for me. If I have another problem I will not have a job.

Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Swollen lymph node is usually a sign of an infection in the system.
I suggest you to do a complete blood count and an xray of the neck to confirm the diagnosis and get proper treatment.
Meanwhile you can use painkillers for the pain such as ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
