Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a small soft lump in the outer upper quadrant, of my right breast, almost under my arm. It's slightly tender, I'm sure from poking. My GP said he's 99.9% sure it's nothing and I should mention it to my GYN when I go for my annual in July. I'm 56 and am post menopausal x 12 years. Have a history of Fibrocystic breasts. Should I be concerned?
I understand your concern. If the mass is movable and not fixed, soft and hard, then it is most probably a benign formation. If not then by all means make an appointment at your earliest convenience for a breast exam and a mammography and/or echography.
I hope this helps. Wishing you all the best.
