What Does A Tingling Sensation On The Scalp Indicate?
I have a dull pain which sometimes feels like a tingling sensation at the top of my scalp. It has been balding overtime. I ve been trying different products to help my hair grow, but I stopped because I keep having this sensation at the top of my head.

Tingling sensation on the scalp is due to the following causes. Though the list may be long, most of the time, it is not dangerous and goes away by itself.
1) Usage of chemicals on scalp as in your case. Once you stop using them, the sensation goes away slowly in a month or so.
2) Anxiety or stress
3) Sinusitis
4) Drugs and medications like anti-convulsants and chemotherapy drugs
5) Excessive alcohol
6) Occipital neuralgia
7) Trigeminal neuralgia
8) Peripheral neuropathy due to diabetes
9) Any injuries to the scalp
10) Multiple sclerosis
11) Autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia
Treatment depends upon the underlying cause. Thorough clinical examination helps in diagnosis and appropriate treatment. In your case, it's mostly due to various chemical agents used for hair growth. After stopping them, slowly the tingling sensation will go away. If even after 1 month of stopping, tingling persists, please do consult a physician.
