What Does A Trans-vaginal Ultrasound Report Showing Decrease In The Solid Component And An Increase In The Cystic Component Indicate?

I recently had trans-vaginal ultrasound. The findings of the uterus: There is a 0.6 x 0.5 x 0.5 cm complex area within the cervix which has changed in appearance in comparison to previous exam. The solid component has decreased with increased cystic component. Additional evaluation is advised. I am waiting to call my OB-GYN, as they do not open till 9 am. I received the letter yesterday. I am nervous about the findings. Can you share any information on what this might be/ or what this might indicate?

Hello,

The 0.6x0.5x0.5 cm complex lesion in cervix could be due to a nabothian cyst.
Nabothian cysts are fluid-filled lesions which are caused due to chronic cervicitis.
However, you need to consult your gynecologist for further opinion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
