Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 28 year old son had a MRI done on his liver and was told he had a benign tumor. He is in the Air Force and is scheduled to see a Dr. on the 13th. Do you think he should ask for a biopsy on that tumor? How can they tell by reading a MRI whether it is cancerous or not?
The tumer is in beginning process that's why it constant. But there is more chances it will make complication and destroy more part of liver, you should go for biopsy whether is is neoplasm or turn in cancer. Biopsy is necessary for assess it. So if you want to avoid complication go for further test and take your doctor opinions for better treatment
