What Does A White Line Under The Lower Lip Indicate?
Hi there I hope you are well. Please see the attached picture. Underneath my lip there is a white line all the way around its very noticeable even more so in person. Its only at the bottom lip. It is not dry and does not itch ...just a white line. I would like to know what this is called? How do I correct it permanently? Any advice appreciated. Thank you!
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of white line under lower lip which seems to be due to removal of natural layer which causes dryness, sun burn and could be due to vitamin deficiency.
I would suggest you to :-
- Avoid licking area below lips.
- Apply lip balm containing SPF 15 to protect the lips from sun exposure.
- Avoid dry environment and drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to keep yourself hydrated .
- Take vitamin B complex daily.
I condition doesn't get better in 7-10 day then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation . Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment or antibiotics .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
