What Does A White Spot In The Back Of The Mouth Indicate?

Hi, my son has a white spot in the back of his mouth. He says it does hurt its just something he can feel when swallowing or eating. Is this something to be concerned about? Enough to take him to the doctor? Or is this something that happens and will go away on its own. It's about pea size.

Hi,

As per your complain white spot at the back of mouth can be an ulcer while if it is on the tonsil it can be a tonsil stone. You should consult an oral physician or an ENT physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination will be done. In case of ulcer he will be advised to do warm saline gargles, take a course of antibiotics and anti inflammatory painkillers and also do antiseptic mouthwash gargles.

In case of tonsil stone manual removal followed by gargles with 1:1 solution of hydrogen peroxide and water can help.
