Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Abdominal Bloating After Medical Abortion Indicate?
I had a medical abortion the evening of August 20. However all week I have felt ridiculously bloated and still hungry often with cravings. I had an ultrasound on August 26 and was told that I had passed the pregnancy. I felt fine the 1st week. What is my body doing?
This indicates gastritis with dyspepsia, which is common in early pregnancy, and is unlikely related to abortion. Symptoms might get better in 1-2 weeks as pregnancy has terminated. Meanwhile you can take pantoprazole 40 mg once daily before food and antacid syrup like gelusil 10ml three times daily for 5 days to see the response. Also, avoid spicy and oily food items, take enough fruits and vegetables.
If not getting down by then, kindly see your doctor.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
