Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does Abdominal Bloating Along With Diarrhea And Vomiting Indicate?
Symptom dates: 12/25/17 to present. Thought I had the flu, but this is still going on. Started out with an upset stomach and feeling baloted. Turned into diarrhea and vomiting. Also full of gas, out of both ends. The burping smell is nothing I have ever smelled before and can clear a room. When I do burp, it gives me tremendous relief. Afraid to eat which brings on all these symptoms. I have lost 15 pounds in the last few weeks.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Diarrhea can be causd by many reasons and microbes are the top cause of this. Your history of flu in the preceding days suggest that the organism invloved may be camplybacter jejuni but the definite diagnosis can be only done by stool culture and sensitivity.
Treatment includes fluid support and antispasmodics along with appropriate antibiotic.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Muhammad Adnan Iqbal
