What Does Abdominal Bloating With Tender Breasts Indicate?
My tummy is looking very bloated, but I haven t gained any weight. My breasts have gotten larger are fuller, and at times tender. My periods are normal except for my cycle length; which can vary from 24 days to 34 days. I had unprotected sex in the middle of Feb.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Bloated abdomen and tender breasts are common during secretory phase of menstrual cycle. The fourteen days before the onset of menstrual cycle comprise of the secretory phase. Bloating, breast tenderness and fullness occur during secretory phase under the influence of progesterone hormone. These symptoms disappear with the onset of menstrual cycle. In addition, these symptoms can occur during implantation phase. Implantation refers to the fertilized ovum getting attached to the uterine wall. Since, you have had unprotected sex, there is a possibility of fertilization and thus implantation. You can get a pregnancy test for confirmation. If there is no pregnancy, then the symptoms are the symptoms seen during secretory phase.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
