What Does Abnormal Distal Femur Extending Superiorly Mean?
Had a total left hip replacement 9 weeks ago, my left knee still hurts, so my Dr. ordered an MRI of my left knee. Finding were the marrow of the distal femur extending superiorly out of the field of view is diffusely abnormal. Mild chondromalacia is at the medial femur. 7mm cyst in the posterior medial tibia. Extensive marrow abnormality of the femur extending superiorly our of the field of view. What does this mean
1.The report suggest there is bone marrow changes in the femur which can be due to the infective / post operative changes extending through out the bone. 2.The cartilage softening is seen as mentioned in the report with thinning - which can be degenerative changes / age related changes. 3.To confirm there is no bony lesion - a x-ray femur AP/LAT will be informative. 4.The tibial cyst can be the ganglion with collection within generally arises from the joint space, can be cartilage, tendons and ligaments. 5.Most possible cause i would suspect is post operative changes infection / inflammatory.
Good luck. Hope i have answered your query, any thing to ask ? do not hesitate to ask. http://doctor.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-ganesh/62888
