General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for writing to HCM.
I understand your concern.
Absence of sensation while having sexual intercourse could be due to 4 reasons.
1. Inadequate lubrication
2. Iron deficiency anemia
3. Vitamin deficiency
4. Use of anesthetic cream or sprays during intercourse.
Inadequate lubrication can be overcome by using water based gels or lubricants. Also if your husband is using anesthetic cream or sprays for prolonging ejaculation, it needs to be discontinued.
In case you are having iron deficiency, kindly take iron capsules, which would keep your vaginal mucosa healthy. Similarly, take multi-vitamin capsules once a day for a month to overcome vitamin deficiency.
By these measures, you should get your sensation back to normal.
All the best.
