Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
PRE- AND POSTCONTRAST MR BRAIN CLINICAL: 54-year-old, headache. Right temporal pain. Peripheral vision problems. TECHNIQUE: Multiplanar 1.5 tesla MR imaging obtained before and following intravenous contrast. FINDINGS: 1. No comparison studies. 2. Minimal punctate periventricular white matter small vessel ischemia. IMPRESSION: No mass, abnormal enhancement, or acute intracranial abnormality. What does this mean? What should I be doing to follow up?
As per my clinical experience, the MRI report is indicative of vascular insufficiency as there is punctate periventricular white matter small vessel ischemia. The vascular insufficiency can be pertaining to vasospasm, changes in the pH and pCO2 of the brain parenchyma. It is best way to get details of possible cause would be MR Angiography which will pick up all blood supply including minute territories as well.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
