What Does An SGPT Level Of 60 Indicate?
my SGPT level is 60 in the recent test. First time such level has happened. Otherwise it was in the 40 range. do i need medicine to control and bring down this level. I drink 2-3 times a month in limited quantities 2- 3 pegs. On medication for BP Coversyl plus and also 5 mg Atorva. Please advise.

A GPT level of 60 indicates that your liver is just a little bit “stressed”. The difference between a value in the 40ies or 60is is significant indeed, but by far no emergency. However, both of your medications can cause abnormal liver function tests according to the information for doctors, provided by the manufacturers of these medical drugs. Just make an appointment with your GP/family doctor and discuss this with him/her.
What should be done is to re-test you, the entire liver panel: gGT, AP, GPT, GOT, LDH, GLDH, bilirubin. Maybe a sonography of the liver and spleen would also make sense. I’m very optimistic that it’s just a side effect, but don’t stop to take your medication before having spoken with your prescribing doctor. Care, but don’t worry. No reason to worry here.
