What Does An Abnormal Pap Smear Suggest?

i recently went to the gynecologist because i had symptoms of an UTI. He prescribed me the medication and in days everything went back to normal. 2-3 weeks go by and i receive a letter stating my pap smear came out as "abnormal" and to please contact the office for further details. The clinic explained it was an ASCUS result and that i would need to go back to the clinic in 4 months for a follow up pap smear to check if everything went back to normal. I am now terrified, something might be wrong. I've only had 2 sexual partners my whole life and both were year lasting relationships. To make matters worse, i have noticed a bump on my labia yesterday. Should i call the doctor or wait the 4 months? what could this mean? the fact of not knowing what is happening is really scaring me.
