Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my husband had an MRI done on his left knee yesterday. We have MyChart through Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY and just got the results and a message from the doctor. She said he has an aneurysm behind the knee. She is referring him back to his vascular dr. How serious is this and what precautions should he be taking before he gets in to the vascular dr. Also, he is diabetic.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
1. He needs to meet the vascular surgeon as he may need the surgery for the aneurysm
2. Who will explain the pros and cons about surgery
3. Before knowing the size and any thrombus , it is difficult to comment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
