What Does An Inconclusive Stress Test Report Indicate?
My husband had a stress test that was inconclusive. What does that mean? His primary care physician s nurse called today and said that my husband needs to see a cardiologist. She did not tell us the test was inconclusive. In fact she would not answer our question of why does he need to see a cardiologist. She said if we want to know we have to schedule an appointment with the doctor. We then went to where he had the stress test to get a copy of the report which is when we found it to be inconclusive. We asked the stress test office about it and they said the test was not problematic otherwise they would have called us earlier. All of these doctors involved with the stress test order and implementation work for a hospital group. We wonder if they aren t just ordering follow up to make the hospital profitable.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is understandable to be concerned. An inconclusive test means that they did not find anything definitely wrong but it was not completely normal either.
You may need to speak to doctor to completely clear him if he remains symptomatic.
I hope this helps.
