Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Does An Indentation At The Incision For Hernia Repair Indicate?
Hello, I had laparoscopy ventral and umbilical hernia repair about 2.5 weeks ago. It is healing properly but I noticed on the site of one of the incisions there is a small indentation. The doctor says this happens sometimes. Do you know if this is a common risk and why it happened and if it will become normal again and in how long?
I don't think this can go back to normal. I think it is a fibrotic tissue formation as a result of procedure or a fail in procedure. You can send a photo to me to see it and give a more accurate opinion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
