Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter fell out of the shopping cart, head first, hitting her head, when she was 3. She got a big bump on her head. She had a slight nose bleed on the way to the hospital. The doctors checked her saying that she didn t have a concussion and just to monitor her. She is now 6 and has a slight identation where she bumped her head. She also complains of headaches pretty regularly. Is this a cause for concern or does she simply get headaches?
As per your description, it seems to have normal head injury which is only outside of the skull. Indentation is because of the softness of the bone in childhood age.
You don't need to worry. It will be normalized by the time she will reach to adulthood. However, if she is feeling headaches frequently, consult neuro physician to be on safer side.
As a preventive measure, if required please go for CT scan of brain also. If it is normal, you can give tablet paracetamol when she gets headaches (maximum 8 hourly).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Hiren Hirpara
