What Does An Indentation On The Penis Indicate?

Hello. I had an abrasion to the side of my penis 4.5 months ago. Now there is an indentation when erect. I have not lost any function. There is no pain. Penis is still quite straight. I have a urology appt in 2 weeks. I am 58 yrs old. I have been doing research online. I am quite anxious. Do you have any advice? Will I need surgery? When should surgery be done if needed?

Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

The indentation is due to scarring that has occurred secondary to the injury. It would improve slightly with time. If there is no change in function then there would likely be no intervention needed. I hope this helps.

Hopefully this clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
