What Does An Infected Blister On The Right Ankle Indicate?

HI, and thank you taking my question. I noticed several days ago that I had a yellow puss filled blister on the inside of my right ankle. I live in SC, and remember slapping an ant off that area. I can t rule out if wasn t a fire ant, although there was only one on my porch, which is strange. Anyway, it s been 4 days and the blister has changed much, maybe slightly bigger. It;s about the size of the tip of a large pencil. I was going to pop it and put medicine on it, then I thought I better ask for advise first. Thank you, Marcia

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
By your history and description, possibility of ant bite is more likely.
Yes, you can definitely pop it and let all liquid come out.
But try this first one time only.
If it is failed to pop out then better to consult doctor.
You can apply betadine or neosporin dressing too.
Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
