What Does An Itchy Black Mole On The Leg Indicate?

I have a small black mole that wasn t there a year ago. It s on the back of my leg. It s been itchy every now and then, and I have just noticed that it now has a raised white head on it. I don t have health insurance and haven t yet been to my GP over it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Itching sensation what you are experiencing over black mole could be due to associated fungal or bacterial infection of surrounding skin over the mole. Kindly cleanse the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily.

After drying, apply antifungal ointment over the affected region like Clotrimazole. Apply moisturizer cream over it at bedtime. Gradually, you should be able to overcome the problem and be back to normal. However, if the symptoms continue to bother you or you see bleeding from the mole, you need to seek medical attention promptly.
