Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was in a wooded area yesterday and was bitten by something, not sure what. The bite itched immediately, but does not really itch much now. The bite is about 1 inch in diameter and pink, but there is a darker pink ring around the bite. Not sure if it is something I should be concerned about or not. Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. No need to worry much for this lesion. This kind of lesions are common after bite. Some degree of itching and swelling, pain are common. You can take simple antihistamine and anti inflammatory drug for these symptoms. You should watch for following things. 1. Worsening pain 2. increasing itching and swelling 3. Redness or Bluish appearance of the lesion. 4. Ulcer formation at the site. If any of these appear then immediately consult doctor otherwise no need to worry for this bite. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
