Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
the small very itchy red bump on my shin has become as big as a quarter , has a large blister and is red surrounding it in the last 48 hours. it is tender and slightly swollen but no other symptoms. I thought my skin was dry and scratched it before I noticed the bump. Ive been keeping Neosporin and a bandage over it. Could it be an infected insect bite? Thank you

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
Hello,
Yes, it can be an infected insect bite. You should take antibiotics like amoxicillin and clavulanate combination two times and anti-inflammatory drug as tablet aceclofenac two times for five days. You may apply Neosporin ointment locally.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
