What Does An Itchy Bump On The Vagina Indicate?

Hi, earlier today I noticed a hard bug bite like bump on my vulva near my clitoris, it itches slightly but doesn't hurt. I'm not sure if it's a spider bite or a result of over shaving the area. I don't have any STDs, and have only had one sexual partner for the past 2 years. Is it something I should worry about?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello! Welcome to HealthcareMagic!

I understand your concern.
The most common cause can be folliculitis.
It is an infection of the hair follicles.
Some advice that I can give you are:

1) Take warm baths several times a day for a few days.
2) Avoid wearing clothing that rubs and chafes your vulva.
3) Wear panties made of natural material like cotton.
4) Clean and dry the area frequently.

Hope this clarifies your concerns. Thank you for the query.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
