What Does An Itchy Rash On The Buttocks Indicate?

Approximately every 6 to 8 weeks I get a small, itchy rash on the right side of the gluteus maximus. Whenever I get this rash the femoral lymph gland on the same side is tender to the touch. This condition lasts for about a week. When the rash clears up the pain subsides. This has occurred several times but my doctor doesn t seem concerned. Should I worry? I am a 62 yr old female. I ll be looking for your answer. Thank you.

Hello,

See itchy rashes might be coming due to other reasons also. You recollect if you are using any cream, any particular type of food or any allergen if it is causing you this type of symptoms.

If it is allergic, then you need to take any antihistaminic cream taken from the medical shop and apply if for few days which will heal your rash.

You can even take oral antihistaminic drug like Cetirizine, Levocetirizine, and etcetera for 3 to 5 days once daily and the rash will disappear. Not to worry much at all.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
