What Does An Itchy Rash On The Upper Torso Indicate?

I have had a rash on my upper torso for about 3 weeks. It itches, not all the time and also burns. I have had the shingles vaccination but have had chicken pox twice, once as a child and again in my 30 s. Could my rash possibly be a mild form of shingles?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Varicella zoster or chicken pox infection in past indicates that the virus is present in your body so it may have been reactivated after so many years if you have taken a vaccine it may be effective to prevent further episode but it is not clear that this time you have developed rash is because of vaccine or early infection of virus so it is better to have checked by your physician near by and diagnosed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr Nirav Nimavat,
