What Does An Itchy Sore On The Middle Finger Indicate?

I have a sore on the back of my middle finger. Also under the red sore and inside of my finger is a hard knot. I put a charcoal poultice on it for a couple days and that didn t help at all. It is sometimes itchy. Usually we don t run to the doctor. What in the world is wrong with my finger?

I have gone through your query. If you send a picture of it then it will be more helpful in identifying. It can be due to fungal infection. In such case using anti fungal ointments like terbinafine or miconazole for local application will be helpful.
